Softball Recap: New Hope-Solebury's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but New Hope-Solebury unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Central Bucks South Titans by a score of 7-6.

Mabel Klossner was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, Dagny Mobley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

New Hope-Solebury's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Central Bucks South, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Hope-Solebury will square off against Neshaminy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.5, the Skins 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Central Bucks South, they will face off against Hatboro-Horsham at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Hatters at the right time seeing as the Hatters are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
