Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Mavericks vs. Owyhee Storm

The Mountain View Mavericks are taking a road trip to face off against the Owyhee Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Mountain View came up short against Meridian and fell 53-46.

Meanwhile, Owyhee faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Owyhee secured a 63-59 W over Centennial.

Owyhee pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points per game. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Mountain View took a serious blow against Owyhee in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 84-35. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mountain View was down 43-19.
