Softball Recap: Durham Academy Has No Trouble Against Thales Academy Apex

Durham Academy came out on top against Thales Academy Apex on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run third inning. The Cavaliers blew past the Titans 15-5.

Maya Patel was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Matelon Barber was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Durham Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in four consecutive games.

The win got Durham Academy back to even at 8-8-1. As for Thales Academy Apex, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

As of now, neither Durham Academy nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
