Baseball Recap: Lodi Gets the Win

Lodi's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Lincoln Trojans by a score of 6-2. This was a revenge game for the Flames: when they faced off against the Trojans last Monday, they had to take a 12-2 defeat.

Landon Beasley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Beasley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Takahashi, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Lodi is undefeated when Takahashi posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-3 otherwise. Chase Whiting also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lodi's record is now 7-3. As for Lincoln, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-6.

Lodi will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lincoln: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
