Recap: Palo Verde Titans vs. Douglas Bulldogs

The Palo Verde Titans came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Douglas by a score of 57-45. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Palo Verde also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.

It was another big night for Daniel Ortiz, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Pippen, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.

Palo Verde's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Douglas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palo Verde will take on Rio Rico at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Rico will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Palo Verde is ranked 44th). As for Douglas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pueblo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
