Basketball Recap: Western Takes a Loss

Western was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 62-48 bruising from the Apple Valley Sun Devils.

Apple Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Germany led the charge by putting up 20 points. The game was Germany's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Wilkerson, who posted 16 points.

Western's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Apple Valley, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Western will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Ana Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Apple Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Big Bear at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Big Bear will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Apple Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
