Basketball Recap: Excel Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Excel Academy Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 68-18 loss at the hands of Prospect Hill Academy.

Excel Academy Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailani Goncalves, who posted eight points. Ana Freitas was another key player, putting up five points.

Excel Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Prospect Hill Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Excel Academy Charter and East Boston will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Prospect Hill Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Neighborhood House Charter at 12:00 p.m. on December 30th.
