Softball Recap: Ellinwood Find Success

Ellinwood gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out the Moundridge Wildcats 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Monday, they had to take a 9-6 defeat.

Bennett Jacobs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Kennedy Behnke was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyria Quintana, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Ellinwood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Moundridge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-2.

Ellinwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Moundridge, they will host Herington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats are facing the Railroaders at the right time seeing as the Railroaders are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
