Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Wayne North Side last Thursday, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran came back down to earth. The Cadets lost 3-0 to the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints on Tuesday. The Cadets have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 25-20.

Sydney Blackwell paced Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's offense, picking up ten kills. Blackwell got some help from Keira Dommer and her 21 assists. Finally, Kaveaya Turner kept Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 17-10. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran will host Fort Wayne Northrop at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they will be playing at home against Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
