Baseball Recap: Santiago Takes a Loss

Santiago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anaheim Colonists. The Cavaliers were not able to make up for their loss to the Colonists from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Israel Resendiz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Chris Arceo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Santiago's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Anaheim, their record now sits at 5-6.

Coming up, Santiago is taking a road trip to challenge Godinez Fundamental at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Godinez Fundamental will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Anaheim, they will take on Esperanza in a tournament on Saturday. Esperanza will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
