Soccer Recap: Dixie Heights Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Dixie Heights kept a clean sheet against Elder on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Dixie Heights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Kentucky, while Elder are ranked 94th in Ohio).

Dixie Heights' win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Elder, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie Heights will face off against Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elder, they will take on La Salle at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Elder will be up against La Salle's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.09 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
