Basketball Game Preview: Appling County Pirates vs. Telfair County Trojans

The Appling County Pirates will face off against the Telfair County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Appling County is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Crisp County on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Appling County was beaten by Crisp County 66-34. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Telfair County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. The game between them and Wheeler County didn't end well, with Telfair County falling 54-37.

Telfair County's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Appling County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Appling County skirted past Telfair County 60-58 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Appling County repeat their success, or does Telfair County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
