Volleyball Recap: Downers Grove South's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Downers Grove South hadn't done well against Lockport recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Porters by a score of 2-0. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Downers Grove South never let Lockport on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23.

Lauren Curran paced Downers Grove South's offense, picking up 11 kills. Curran got some help from Niya Mincheva and her 13 assists. Jayda Dixon controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Lockport's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Consigny, who had 12 digs and three assists, and Katelyn Nelson, who had seven digs and one assist.

Downers Grove South's victory bumped their record up to 26-7. As for Lockport, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-6.

Downers Grove South has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Kenwood on the 25th. As for Lockport, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Maine South on the 25th.
