Basketball Recap: Silver Valley Piles Up the Points Against Academy for Academic Excellence

Silver Valley came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 72-31 win over the Academy for Academic Excellence Knights. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Silver Valley to victory were Jasean Phillips and Javion Taylor. Phillips went 11 for 16 en route to 24 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Taylor went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Taylor is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jason Taylor, who posted four points along with five assists and four steals.

Silver Valley pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game.
