Volleyball Recap: Yarmouth Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with York

Yarmouth faced York in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Clippers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. The Clippers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

While Yarmouth ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19, 25-19.

Grace Keaney paced Yarmouth's offense, picking up 11 kills. Keaney got some help from Sutton Yi and her 14 assists. Yi was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabella Parrotta, who had seven digs and four aces. Parrotta has been hot recently, having also posted 19 or more assists the last three times she's played. Jillian Holland was another key player, getting 11 digs, nine kills, and one block.

Yarmouth's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for York, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Yarmouth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Gardiner on the 9th. As for York, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Greely on the 9th.
