Basketball Recap: Covenant Comes Up Short

Covenant lost against Wylie Prep Academy back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Covenant Knights were dealt a 56-25 defeat at the hands of the Wylie Prep Academy Patriots. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emily True was a one-woman wrecking crew for Wylie Prep Academy as she dropped a double-double on 25 points and 22 rebounds. True is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Remey Cunniff, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Covenant's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wylie Prep Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Covenant will face off against Prince of Peace at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th. Covenant is facing Prince of Peace at the right time seeing as Prince of Peace is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Wylie Prep Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-39 defeat against Legacy Christian Academy on the 7th.
