Mount Vernon and Boyd squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mount Vernon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 1-0. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 27-6-1. As for Boyd, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4-2 record this season.

While Mount Vernon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Thursday.
