Recap: Morgan Eagles vs. Blum Bobcats

The Morgan Eagles had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They snuck past Blum with a 62-57 win. Given Morgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 790th, while Blum is ranked 1595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morgan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Alonzo, who scored 33 points along with two steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alonzo has scored all season. Zach Mitchell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds.

Morgan pushed their record up to 19-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Blum, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan will take on Walnut Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blum, they will be playing at home against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
