Santa Clara had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cupertino Pioneers a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Bruins have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Traffas, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times he's played. Zach Gallegos was another key player, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Santa Clara pushed their record up to 24-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cupertino, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13-1 record this season.
