Pahoa wins going away against Hawaii Prep

The Pahoa Daggers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on Hawaii Prep with a sharp 55-29 win. This was payback for Pahoa, who suffered a 41-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
Hunter Paio was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. He also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyran Canete, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Pahoa's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Hawaii Prep, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
Pahoa will square off against Honoka'a at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hawaii Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Kamehameha Hawai'i at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Kamehameha Hawai'i's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups.
