Baseball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short

Sumner has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.55 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 12-2 to the Puyallup Vikings. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sumner's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Puyallup, the win keeps they at an undefeated 11-0.

While Sumner had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
