Basketball Recap: Abbie Rowley and Emmy Hales Secure Win for Payson + How To Watch

Payson posted their closest win since January 3rd on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 victory over the Olympus Titans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Leading Payson to victory were Emmy Hales and Abbie Rowley. Hales dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards, while Rowley dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Hales' big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Halle Anderson, who posted four points along with seven steals and six assists.

Despite the loss, Olympus still got an impressive performance from Kya Newton, who earned 12 points and four steals. Annie Erickson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Payson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Payson will head out on the road to take on Lehi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olympus, they will be playing at home against Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
