Brazoswood has gone a perfect 10-0 against Clear Brook recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Buccaneers will take on the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brazoswood has three straight wins, Clear Brook has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Brazoswood sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Clear Creek. That's two games straight that the Buccaneers have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Clear Brook didn't have quite enough to beat Clear Lake on Tuesday and fell 9-7. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly two runs.

Estrella Rowe was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ahiza Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Brazoswood's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-12-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Clear Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Everything went Brazoswood's way against Clear Brook when the teams last played back in March, as Brazoswood made off with a 17-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
