Softball Recap: Colfax Takes a Loss

Colfax was the 7-6 winner over Elk Mound when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mounders on Monday. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Mounders since on Monday.

Colfax's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. As for Elk Mound, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3.

Colfax didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-4 win against Elmwood/Plum City on the 17th. As for Elk Mound, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Thorp on the 15th.
