Basketball Game Preview: White Oak Roughnecks vs. Sabine Cardinals

White Oak is 2-8 against Sabine since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The White Oak Roughnecks will head out on the road to take on the Sabine Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Friday, White Oak was beaten by Tatum 75-24. While losing is never fun, the Roughnecks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1315th, while the Eagles are ranked 302nd).

Meanwhile, Sabine took a blow against Tatum on Tuesday, falling 62-31. The Cardinals have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

This is the second loss in a row for White Oak and nudges their season record down to 4-20. As for Sabine, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-19.

Things could have been worse for White Oak, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 39-23 loss to Sabine in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can White Oak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
