Volleyball Recap: Hozho Academy Takes a Loss

Hozho Academy was the 3-2 winner over Laguna Acoma when they last played one another on October 14th, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Hozho Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Laguna Acoma into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 21-25, 15-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Raine Miller paced Hozho Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Miller got some help from Lucia Edaakie and her 11 assists. Finally, Miller was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Hozho Academy now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Laguna Acoma, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Hozho Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Rehoboth Christian on the 4th. As for Laguna Acoma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Ramah on the 4th.
