Volleyball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Reedy

Reedy had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They blew past the Newman Smith Trojans 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Reedy was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-10, 25-12.

Ciara Williams paced Reedy's offense, picking up eight kills. Williams got some help from Paige Hawkinson and her 22 assists. Hawkinson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Reedy's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Newman Smith, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Reedy will face off against rival Turner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Newman Smith is set to take on their familiar foe Highland Park at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
