Volleyball Recap: Senath-Hornersville Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Senath-Hornersville faced off against Risco on Friday. The Lions lost 3-0 to the Tigers. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

While Senath-Hornersville ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

Leading Risco to victory were Lorelai Smith and Leighton Calvert. Smith had seven digs and two aces, while Calvert had five digs and four aces. Smith is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Senath-Hornersville's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Risco, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Senath-Hornersville will head out to take on Portageville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Risco, they will venture away from home to face off against Richland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
