Waynesburg Central and Jefferson-Morgan are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Waynesburg Central Raiders will head out to take on the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Waynesburg Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Waynesburg Central is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against Serra Catholic, falling 79-53. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 566th, while the Eagles are ranked 168th).

Meanwhile, Jefferson-Morgan entered their contest against Chartiers-Houston on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Jefferson-Morgan fell 49-36 to Chartiers-Houston. The game marked the Rockets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Waynesburg Central will have to contain Jeremiah Robertson as he made an impact in Jefferson-Morgan's last game. He dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Robertson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayten Marion, who posted four points along with nine blocks and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Jefferson-Morgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Jefferson-Morgan suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 14-7. As for Waynesburg Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Waynesburg Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Jefferson-Morgan in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waynesburg Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
