Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aliana Garcia and Lana Shirley Lead Dobson to Victory

Dobson waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over the South Mountain Jaguars. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dobson was led to victory by Lana Shirley and Aliana Garcia. Shirley dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards, while Garcia went 5 of 9 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. What's more, Shirley also racked up four steals, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Terandra Harper, who posted four points and five steals.

Dobson was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-5. As for South Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Dobson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-29 win against Santa Fe Christian on the 18th. As for South Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-14 victory against Glendale on the 13th.
