Volleyball Game Preview: West Craven Eagles vs. SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars + Official Tickets

The West Craven Eagles will challenge the SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, West Craven made easy work of Eastern Wayne and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-13.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when SouthWest Edgecombe duked it out with North Johnston on Wednesday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. The game was the first time the Cougars have beaten the Panthers on their court since September 13, 2021.

SouthWest Edgecombe wouldn't go down easily and took North Johnston into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 25-27, 15-6.

The victory got SouthWest Edgecombe back to even at 10-10. As for West Craven, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.

West Craven was able to grind out a solid victory over SouthWest Edgecombe when the teams last played on Monday, winning 3-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
