Basketball Recap: Chatfield Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Chatfield and Horizon squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Chatfield had to settle for second. They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horizon Hawks. The Chargers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, Chatfield still got an impressive performance from Jordyn Reed, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Sadie Goodwin was another key player, going 5-for-7 on her way to 13 points.

Horizon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaitlin Schumann out in front who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards. Schumann is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Alvarado, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 20 points.

Chatfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Horizon, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10.

Chatfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Horizon, they have already played their next contest, a 72-30 loss against Grandview on the 1st.
