Basketball Recap: Roff Takes a Loss

Roff lost against Allen last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Roff Tigers took a blow against the Allen Mustangs, falling 85-20. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-16.

Allen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Prentice, who went 7 of 9 en route to 21 points and five steals. Prentice has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cherish Woodward, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Roff's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Allen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roff will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Amber-Pocasset at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Allen, they will head out to square off against Stratford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
