Softball Recap: Carrboro Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Carrboro made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Vance County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Carrboro's pitcher stepped up to hand Vance County a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Jaguars have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Lauren Curry, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Jaida Jakubiak was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Carrboro has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. Vance County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Carrboro will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vance County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
