Baseball Recap: Norwell Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Norwell's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Homestead Spartans on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost seven in a row.

Norwell got a good showing from Noah Turk, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, Turk didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

Norwell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Homestead, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Norwell and Homestead should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Knights will take on Angola at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (120 vs. 319). Meanwhile, Homestead (ranked third) will meet South Bend Adams (ranked 306th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
