Baseball Recap: Century Has No Trouble Against Stewartville

It was a proper cat-fight when Century duked it out with Stewartville on Monday. The Panthers blew past the Tigers 11-1. Considering the Panthers have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Brendon Wegner looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Esau, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Kelly, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Century kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Century now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Stewartville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Century will face off against Northfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stewartville, they will take on Kasson-Mantorville at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Komets at the right time seeing as the Komets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
