Basketball Recap: Bode Douglass' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mckinleyville over Arcata

It was a proper cat-fight when McKinleyville took on Arcata on Friday. The McKinleyville Panthers received a blow as they fell 61-47 to the Arcata Tigers. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 61-45.

McKinleyville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bode Douglass, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points and eight boards. Cole Armstrong was another key player, putting up 17 points and eight rebounds.

McKinleyville dropped their record down to 14-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Arcata, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

McKinleyville has already played their next matchup, a 45-39 win against St. Bernard's on the 22nd. As for Arcata, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 77-43 victory against Eureka on the 22nd.
