Winchester Community hadn't done well against Richmond recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Golden Falcons walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Red Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Winchester Community took both sets by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-13.

Auden Hummel paced Winchester Community's offense, picking up ten kills. Hummel got some help from Lyndi Whitenack and her 12 assists. Jasmine Rheinhart controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

When it comes to explaining why Richmond lost, don't look at Katie Mathena. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and one assist.

Winchester Community has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. As for Richmond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-17.

Winchester Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Seton Catholic on the 4th. As for Richmond, they will face off against Marion at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
