Preview: Dudley Panthers vs. High Point Central Bison
Dudley is 10-0 against High Point Central since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Dudley Panthers will head out on the road to take on the High Point Central Bison at 8:00 p.m. Dudley is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
Ben L. Smith typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Dudley proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 53-48 W over the Golden Eagles.
Dudley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cortney "CJ" Jones out in front who scored 17 points. Jones hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerron Blackwell, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, High Point Central came up short against Southern Guilford on Tuesday and fell 56-46. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for High Point Central in their matchups with Southern Guilford: they've now lost eight in a row.
Dudley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for High Point Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Dudley took their victory against High Point Central when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 72-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dudley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
