De Kalb hasn't had much luck against Hooks recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. De Kalb is taking a road trip to take on Hooks at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
De Kalb made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Queen City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. De Kalb put the hurt on Queen City with a sharp 10-1 victory on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Kaydee Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those 18 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Addison Starrett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Caylin Corbett was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
De Kalb kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hooks came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Dragons 14-3. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly 11 runs.
Peyton Morgan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zoey Greenwood, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Lewis, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.
De Kalb pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hooks, their record is now 14-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. De Kalb hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. However, it's not like Hooks struggles in that department as they've averaged .376. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
De Kalb came up short against Hooks when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can De Kalb avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
