Baseball Recap: Friday's Win Is San Domenico's Third in Last Four Outings

San Domenico lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lick-Wilmerding, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Panthers never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Tigers on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-6 defeat.

Oliver Swain was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has become a key player for San Domenico: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

Swain wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alex Brook, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Brook a new career-high. Colin Falconer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

San Domenico has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lick-Wilmerding, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

As of now, neither San Domenico nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
