Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Bunker Hill

Bunker Hill waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the West Caldwell Warriors. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one run.

Serena Thurman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bunker Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Stuebe, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Bunker Hill pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for West Caldwell, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.
