Baseball Recap: John Jay Extends Winning Streak to Four

John Jay extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 17-1 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Ketcham Storm. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since April 19th.

Landon Seipp tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Austin Seipp was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Vinny Angioletti, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for Ketcham, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

On Ketcham's side, they got a good showing from Tyler Durkin, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Durkin didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ketcham beat John Jay by a score of 12-2 on Tuesday.
