Baseball Recap: Zachary Comes Up Short

After flying high against Brother Martin last Saturday, Zachary came back down to earth. The Zachary Broncos fell just short of the Dunham Tigers by a score of 8-7 on Monday. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Zachary's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dunham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

While Zachary had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
