Softball Recap: Daphne's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Daphne can now relate to. They fell just short of the Auburn Tigers by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Victoria Moten spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Daphne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Claire Senese, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Daphne's defeat dropped their record down to 38-7. As for Auburn, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 28-17.

As of now, neither Daphne nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
