Softball Recap: Lewis Mills Spartans vs. Farmington River Hawks

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bristol Eastern, Lewis Mills was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Farmington River Hawks a 15-0 shutout. The Spartans have beaten the River Hawks the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the River Hawks has come to flipping the script.

Eliza Criss made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
