Baseball Recap: Spartanburg Day Takes a Loss

Spartanburg Day lost against Spartanburg Christian Academy back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Griffins fell 6-3 to the Warriors.

Lavonte Henderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Matty Lyle was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Spartanburg Day's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Spartanburg Day will head out to square off against Hampton Park Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greenwood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
