Softball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

Gatlinburg-Pittman's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Austin-East Roadrunners get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. Considering the Highlanders have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bailey Norris made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sadie Moore, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Hailey Watson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10. As for Austin-East, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

As of now, neither Gatlinburg-Pittman nor the Roadrunners have any future games scheduled.
