Basketball Recap: Fryeburg Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cape Elizabeth last Monday, Fryeburg came back down to earth. The Fryeburg Raiders took a 38-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yarmouth Clippers on Friday. The Raiders have struggled against the Clippers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Fryeburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Yarmouth, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.

Fryeburg and Yarmouth could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Maine Rankings. Fryeburg will take on Mt. Ararat at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 100 places (106 vs. 6). Meanwhile, Yarmouth (ranked 88th) will meet Gray-New Gloucester (ranked 13th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
