Basketball Recap: Churchill County Skates Past Sage Ridge with Ease

Churchill County was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sage Ridge on Tuesday. The Churchill County Greenwave blew past the Sage Ridge Scorpions 67-20. The game marked the Greenwave's most dominant win of the season.

Churchill County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calin Anderson, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points and four steals. Anderson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Barry Mitchell was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Churchill County was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sage Ridge only racked up six assists.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Skaria, who posted eight points.

Churchill County's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Sage Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Churchill County will face off against Elko at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Churchill County is facing Elko at the right time seeing as Elko is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sage Ridge, they will take on Excel Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sage Ridge will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Excel Christian will have lost three straight heading into Friday's matchup.
